The Cisco ASR 1002-HX Router (P/N: ASR1002-HX) is one of the most powerful service routers available from Cisco. This compact 2 RU ASR 1000 HX series router provides up to 100Gbps of bandwidth across a number of possible interface configurations. Specifically, the ASR1002-HX comes with four 1GE and four 10GE fixed ports, upgradable to eight of each port type through an optional license. In addition to the ports built in to the Cisco ASR 1002 HX, this router also supports 1 Ethernet port adapter and 1 single-wide network interface module (NIM) or 1 double-wide NIM.
Images of the front of this device are below, showing the ASR 1002 HX interface layout and port density with optional add on modules. Although they are not shown the images of the ASR below, DC power supply options are also available.
The ASR 1002-HX Router has the same software redundancy capabilities as the other Cisco ASR1000 series routers in this family, like the ASR 1001-X, ASR 1002-X and ASR1001-HX platforms. These software redundancy features do not require redundant hardware, making them ideal for managed service providers and aggregation applications.
